How to set up text around the photo on a button
What this is
In NINEMAGS Live, text is printed around the photo on a button — on all four sides: top, bottom, left, and right. For each side, you decide what gets printed: your own text or a ready-made value that fills in automatically. Leave a side empty and nothing is printed there.
Available for buttons and puzzle buttons.

Where you can set the text
You can set it in two places:
- In the event's settings — applies to every button in that event.
- At print time — for a specific print only, side by side.
Settings at print time always win over the event's settings. If nothing is set anywhere, the system uses default values (image number, event name, event date).

How to set the text for the whole event
- Open NINEMAGS Live.
- Open the event you want to set up.
- In the left menu, click Settings.
- Scroll to the Default print text rows block. You'll see four fields arranged around a central "Photo" box: Top, Bottom, Left, Right.
- For each side, click the dropdown and choose what to print:
- Custom text — then type your text in the field below the dropdown.
- Any ready-made value (Image number, Customer number, Event name, Event date, Print sequence #) — it will be filled in automatically for each button.
- To leave a side without text, leave the field below the dropdown empty.
- Your changes are saved automatically — no need to click Save.

Ready-made values
- Custom text — your own text.
- Image number — the image number.
- Customer number — the guest's number.
- Event name — the name of the event.
- Event date — the date of the event.
- Print sequence # — the print sequence number.
How to override the text for a specific print
If a particular print needs different text, you can change it right before printing:
- Open the event and go to Uploads.
- Select the photos you want to print.
-
Click Print — the Print options window opens.

- You'll see the same four sides around the Photo box: Top, Bottom, Left, Right. By default, each side shows what's set in the event's settings.
- For any side you want to change, toggle Customize on. The dropdown and text field become editable.
- Pick a different value from the dropdown — or choose Custom text and type your own.
- Sides where Customize stays off keep the event's settings.
- Click Print at the bottom right.
Guest contact info on the button
If you collect guests' email or phone in the event's settings, you can print that on the button too. Each button then carries the contact info of the guest it belongs to — so on the spot, you can easily tell whose button is whose and avoid mixing up orders.

To use this, in the event's settings choose Customer email or Customer phone as the value for one of the sides (Top, Bottom, Left, or Right).

Good to know
- Settings at print time override the event's settings.
- If nothing is set anywhere, the system fills in default values.
- If autoprint is on in the event, the text is picked up automatically from the event's settings — no operator action needed.
