Event Statuses Explained

This guide explains what each event status means and how it affects guest access, uploads, and printing.


What Are Event Statuses?

Each event in NINEMAGS has a status that controls:

  • Whether guests can access the upload page
  • Whether photo uploads are allowed
  • How the event behaves during and after the event

There are three event statuses:

  • Not Started
  • In Progress
  • Finished



Not Started

This status means the event has not begun yet.

What guests see

If a guest opens the event link or scans the QR code, they will see:

“Event has not started. The event has not started yet. Please check back later.”

What is allowed

❌ Photo uploads are disabled

❌ Upload page is not accessible

❌ Auto Print does not trigger

When to use

  • Before the event starts
  • When you don’t want guests uploading photos yet
  • While testing or preparing settings

In Progress

This is the active event state.

What guests see

  • The upload page opens normally
  • Guests can upload photos via camera or gallery (based on your settings)

What is allowed

✅ Photo uploads are enabled

✅ Upload page is accessible

✅ Auto Print works (if enabled)

✅ Image Presets are applied to new uploads

When to use

  • During the actual event
  • When guests are actively uploading photos
  • When printing should happen automatically

⚠️ Important:

If your event access is set to “By event status”, the event must be set to In Progress for the upload link to work.


Finished

This status means the event is over.

What guests see

If a guest opens the event link or scans the QR code, they will see:

“Event has been finished. The event has been finished. Thank you for participating..”

What is allowed

❌ Photo uploads are disabled

❌ Upload link is inactive

✅ Existing uploads remain available for review and printing

When to use

  • After the event ends
  • When you want to prevent further uploads
  • While finishing prints or reviewing content

If Access → Link activity time is set to:

  1. By event status

Upload link is active only when the event is In Progress

  • Custom
  • Upload link follows the selected date & time range, regardless of status

    No access

  • Upload link is always disabled

Tip:

Always double-check both Event Status and Access settings if guests cannot upload photos.
