How the Stack Feature Works
What is Stack
The Stacks feature is designed to be used only with Die Cutting and is not convenient for use with Punch Cutting.
You can learn more about the equipment here: Die Cutting Press.
Stack is a feature that automatically groups orders into batches for easier printing and processing.
How to enable Stack
To enable the feature, go to:
NINEMAGS App → Settings → Printing → Stacks → Use stacks (check the box).

1. How Stack works
- Once enabled, the system monitors how many orders are collected per template:
- for a 9-magnet template, stacks are created starting from the 9th order,
- for a 12-magnet template, stacks are created starting from the 12th order.
- When the required number of orders is reached, they are automatically grouped into a stack.
- This ensures that printing is done in batches, reducing manual work and errors.
2. Where files go
When a stack is created, files are automatically distributed into dedicated folders:
- print — orders ready for printing.
- print-stack — created stacks for printing.
- used-in-stack — files that were already included in a stack.
- source — raw data and control files for verification.
- printed / printing — orders that are being printed or have already been printed.
This folder structure ensures clear separation of files at every stage of the workflow.

3. Tracking status in the app
In the Ninemags app you can track:
- which stacks are already formed,
- which ones are “in progress,”
- and see when stacks are close to being completed.
This allows production teams to plan ahead and prepare for upcoming batches.

4. Managing stacks in the NINEMAGS app
In the Stacks section of the NINEMAGS app, you can view and manage all stacks generated by the system.
Here you can:
- see all already formed stacks;
- track stacks that are still in progress;
- delete stacks that are no longer needed;
- edit stacks that have not been fully formed yet.
Stack statuses and actions
-
Formed stacks
These stacks are complete and ready for printing.
They can be deleted, but cannot be edited.
-
Stacks in progress
These stacks have not reached the target number of items yet.
For these stacks, the Edit option is available, allowing you to adjust them before printing.
This gives you full control over how and when stacks are finalized.

5. Stack print sheets and order information
When a stack is formed, NINEMAGS automatically generates a print sheet.
This sheet includes:
- order numbers;
- barcodes;
- layout information for printing.
Each block on the sheet corresponds to a specific order included in the stack.
Social media consent indicator
On the print sheet, you may notice “++” symbols next to some orders.
This means that the customer has given consent to use their images for social media or marketing purposes.
- Orders marked with “++” → consent granted
- Orders without the mark → no consent
This helps you easily identify which images can be safely used for promotional content.

6. Tracking stack progress
Inside the Stacks section, you can quickly see:
- how many items are already added to a stack;
- how many items are still required to complete it;
- whether the stack has been printed or not.
This makes it easier to plan production, avoid errors, and prepare batches in advance.
