What is the border color

The border color is the margin added around an image when a print file is created. The uploaded image is placed in the center, and the empty space is filled with the border color you choose. You pick the color yourself — any color you like.

How it works

1. The customer uploads an image.
2. NINEMAGS creates a print file for the required size.

3. A border in your chosen color is added to the image.

   
   

How the border sits depends on the product type:

• On buttons, the border wraps around to the back of the magnet.
• On vinyls, the border runs along the edge when the piece is cut.

Where to set the color

You can set the color in two places:

1. At the store level — set it once, and it applies to all your products. Handy for a consistent style.

2. At the product level — set a special color for a specific product. The product setting always wins, so that product uses its own color while all the others keep the store color.

   How to set the color for the whole store

1. Open the NINEMAGS app (Shopify Admin → Apps → NINEMAGS).
2. Go to Settings.
3. Turn on Use custom border color and/or Use custom text color.
4. Pick a color from the palette or enter a color code (for example, #FF0000).
5. Click Save.

This color applies to all products.

How to set the color for a specific product

1. In the NINEMAGS app, open Products.
2. Click Configure on the product you need.
3. Select the variant you need (if there are several) by checking its box.
4. Click Edit.
5. In the Edit properties window, turn on Use custom border color and/or Use custom text color.
6. Pick a color from the palette or enter a color code.
7. Click Save.

This color applies only to that product; all the others keep the store color.

About the preview

When you pick a color, a preview of the border (and text) in your chosen color appears next to it. This is a simple preview of the border that you see while setting things up — not how the finished magnet will look.

Border text (buttons only)

Buttons have text printed on the back, along the edges. Its color can also be set to any color — you set it in the same place as the border color (the Use custom text color checkbox).

Where the border color appears

The chosen color is printed and will be on the finished magnet (on buttons — on the back). You won't see it in your store beforehand: the product preview for shoppers does not change, and the border color isn't shown on Shopify product pages or in the cart either.
