Testing and Placing Orders

Before launching your store, it's important to make sure the entire purchase process works correctly — from selecting a product to generating a shipping label. This guide covers how to run a full test cycle without any real charges.

Preparing for Testing

Before starting the test, make sure two conditions are met:

💡 Stripe is not required for test orders. You can complete the full test cycle — including checkout and shipping label generation — without connecting Stripe. A test payment will be simulated automatically.

1. The product is marked as a test product

Go to Products, open the desired product, and enable the Test Product toggle (located below the Description field). Click Save.

In the product list, a Test.

2. The store is set to Draft status

Go to Store, click the menu (three dots) next to the store, and select Unpublish. The store status will change to Draft.

⚠️ Required

Test products are only visible in stores with Draft status. They will not appear on a published (Live) store.

Step 1. Open the Store Preview

In the Online Store section, click the menu (three dots) next to the store, and select View. A preview of your page will open in a new tab.

Find the test product in the grid, select the desired variant, and click the Upload Pictures button (if the product requires photo uploads).

Step 2. Upload Photos and Proceed to Checkout

If the product requires photo uploads, an upload window will open. Upload the required number of images (drag and drop or click Upload From PC). Google Photos, Camera, Dropbox, and other sources are also available.

After uploading, the Product Preview will open — a product preview with uploaded photos. Make sure everything looks correct and click Checkout.

Step 3. Place a Test Order

You'll be redirected to the Stripe payment page. Note the Sandbox badge at the top of the page — this confirms you're in test mode and no real charges will be made.

🧪 Test Card Details

Card number:   4242 4242 4242 4242

Expiry date:     any valid future date (e.g., 12/30)

CVC:                any 3 digits (e.g., 123)

Address:          any real address

Fill in the shipping details (Shipping Information): email, address, phone. Select a shipping method from the available options (e.g., Express Delivery or Economy Shipping). Enter the test card details and click the payment button.

Step 4. Find the Order in the Orders Section

After successful payment, return to NINEMAGS Pages and go to the Orders section in the sidebar menu. All orders are displayed here.

Test orders are marked with a Test badge next to the order number. For each order, you can see: order number, amount, payment status (Paid), shipping status, and creation date.

Click on an order to open its details. You'll see:

  • Product Summary — which products were ordered, quantity, price
  • Customer Details — buyer's name, email, phone
  • Shipping Address — delivery address
  • Delivery Method — selected shipping method and cost

Step 5. Generate a Shipping Label

At the bottom of the order page, you'll find the Shipping & Logistics section. The label generation process consists of three steps:

Step 5.1. Select Parcel — Choose a Package Template

In the Parcel template dropdown, select one of the previously created parcel templates (e.g., 5 x 5 x 5 in, 5 lb). Click next.

Step 5.2. Request Rates — Choose a Carrier

The system will request current rates from carriers. You'll see a table with options: provider (UPS, USPS, etc.), service, cost, and delivery time in days.

Select the desired option and click Generate Label.

Step 5.3. Generate Label — Download the Shipping Label

After generation, you'll see the Shipment Completed block with a Ready to ship status. Here you'll find:

  • Shipment number and label number
  • Shipping cost (Shipping Rate)
  • Tracking Number
  • Selected carrier and service
  • Package parameters (Parcel)

Click the Download Label button to download the ready-to-use label in PDF format.

Done!

You've completed the full testing cycle: from creating a test product to generating a shipping label. If everything works correctly, remove the test badge from your products, publish the store (Publish), and your store is ready for real sales!
